The Division of Marketing and Communications is responsible for University marketing, advertising, branding and promotions. Its responsibilities include production of MTSU Magazine, as well as specialty magazines for the colleges and other units; producing videos, television and radio commercials and programming; generating content for social media, University’s primary website (www.mtsu.edu) and its news site (www.mtsunews.com); serving as a liaison and resource for outside media; producing the University’s major reports; and assisting the Office of the President with messaging and campus communication. The division also includes the offices of Creative and Visual Services, which provides graphic design and photographic services to the campus, and University Printing Services, which includes Blue Print Solutions in the Student Union Building.

Academic Marketing

Responsible for the University’s overall advertising needs and available to consult and assists all colleges, departments and offices with marketing and branding strategies and specific projects. Academic Marketing also collects and interprets market research and, through the Office of Strategic Communications, oversees content functions of the University’s primary website (www.mtsu.edu), the University’s social media presence, and produces videos and television and radio commercials.

Creative and Visual Services

Offers writing, editing, photography and design services for the University. Produces a broad range of products, including posters, brochures, programs, pamphlets, guides, logos, bulletins and other academic documents. Creative and Visual Services helps ensure consistency in branding for the University and conducts Tennessee Higher Education Commission-required pre-publication review of materials. Works with University Printing Services and outside vendors.

Event Productions

True Blue TV Event Productions is the University’s premier live event and audio/video production team offering state-of-the-art services to the on-campus community and greater Nashville area. Services include live event productions, broadcasting support for MT Athletics events in Floyd Stadium and Murphy Center, conference and classroom AV assistance, and equipment rentals. Working closely with Event Coordination, Event Productions will help you elevate the quality of your production and expand awareness of your event by also working with Academic Marketing and the MTSU Social Media team.

News and Media Relations

Develops and disseminates important news and public information from the University and serves as the principal point-of-contact for local, state, national and international media organizations. News and Media Relations is responsible for content and production of digital and print news and information platforms for the University and management of the University’s internal alert network.

Printing Services (Blue Print Solutions)

MTSU Printing Services operates Blue Print Solutions, the on-campus provider for many of your printing needs. Located on the ground floor of the Student Union Building, we offer high-speed digital copying and professional offset printing. We also offer book binding, folding, padding, laminating, numbering and stapling to give any project a professional look. We can produce posters in a variety of sizes and we offer pick-up and delivery to on-campus locations. We can also supply you with all your paper needs.

Resource and Operations Management

Provides business and administrative services to the division, including working with the units to ensure proper cost recovery; efficient budget management; compliance to University regulations and procedures; and consistent operation systems.

True Blue TV

Serving as the broadcast hub for live campus events shown on television and social media platforms, True Blue TV has served the region as an educational resource channel since 1999. It broadcasts from the Center for Educational Media, a part of the College of Education at MTSU, and is operated by the Division of Marketing and Communications under license from the Murfreesboro Cable Television Commission.

University Publications

Responsible for the oversight, editing and production of MTSU Magazine, as well as periodicals for colleges and centers of the University. Develops and produces premium content for special digital and print publications.


Our division primarily focuses on the University’s academic, administrative and service units. However, we also work as teammates and partners with our marketing colleagues in Blue Raider Athletics on projects and efforts benefitting the entire University community.
